Why the BBC is worth DOUBLE the fee, and why their Olympics App is the best App EVER.

The Stand Out winner as far as we're concerned is the BBC Olympics App for iPhone and Android.  It may well be one of the most comprehensive, addictive, well designed, and well built Apps we have EVER seen. The App begins with a fresh looking home page providing easy access to top stories and live coverage to stream to your phone.  The home screen also shows latest news, with the option to see just Team GB news, and a cracking Medals Table view too.  As I post this, GB has 4 medals and China is top with 23!! The full range of options are:

• Schedule & Results: See the full schedule by Date or by Sport, as well as a link into the LIVE action.

• Live: Choose Live Text or Video, and stream all the action to your phone.
•  
• All Sports: A Complete table (with some beautiful icons) of every Olympic Sport.  Click through to any one of them and see all the top stories relating to that sport, LIVE video, schedules, and Athlete Bios. (Oh yeah, didn't I mention - EVERY single team, and EVERY SINGLE Athlete if fully profiled within the App - you can really drill down with this thing!!)

• Medals: A classy Medals Table updated in real-time

HELL YES I do.  The BBC is the finest, best presented, most technologically advanced, broadcasting and communications service in the world (probably).  We should all feel lucky to have it, we should all enjoy ALL it has to offer (TV, Radio, Online, Mobile and more), and if it came to it, I think I'd even pay double the fee!!
